ASVAB

You will be required to take an Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery prior to enlisting. This test will cover 9 areas and shouldn’t take more than 130 minutes to complete. The sections are:
General Science
Arithmetic Reasoning
Word Knowledge
Paragraph Comprehension
Mathematics Knowledge
Electronic Information
Automotive and Shop Information
Assembling Objects

To prepare for the test there are several books and sites that provide excellent preparation. Some that we are most confident in are linked below. Use the “Show Answer” to see how the problems were solved to refresh your memory on the calculation in the mathematical areas. A best practice is to read both the answers and the questions prior to beginning to solve. This is particularly important in the paragraph comprehension section. For practice, focus on the Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, and Mathematics Knowledge. The other areas focus on job interest and you will normally score high in areas you are interested in without additional studying.
